Purpose
The Parent Link Centre provides families in the available areas with hands-on parent modeling of good parent behaviour. Through high-quality, accessible programming, parents can come with their children under age 5 to drop-in play five days a week.
Process
Triple P Certified Coordinators facilitate and model appropriate parenting to meet the needs of the attending parents through a variety of activities for the kids. Messy play days and loud music are just a few of the activities we provide. Parents are required to participate with their children. One-on-one meetings, parent training plans and question answering are just some of the tools used. In addition to parent education, early-childhood development and care, coordinators are able to provide referrals to other community programs to ensure parents are getting what they need to be successful.
Outcomes
Each individual participant defines what it means to be a successful parent. Socialization, exposure to new experiences and friend-making make the Parent Link Centre a valuable community resource. If supplementary support is required, coordinators are able to refer to additional McMan programs to help each family prioritize the needs of their children.

Success Story
Amanda has been participating in her local Parent Link Centre for almost three years. Recently, she was transferred to a new town and was saddened to leave the PLC community she had created behind. In her new town, Amanda contacted McMan Central whom helped her connect with the local PLC. From there, she sought out the new centre and inquired about programs and activities she and her family can use so that they can continue to receive the support they need. “I’m not sure what we would have done without Parent Link!”, she says. “It has been a Godsend to my family."
